bombic.io Game Modes

The main menu offers four different modes: some are about surviving and growing, others about being the last one standing. Here is the detailed guide to picking the one for you.

Every mode plays with the same basic controls — move, drop a bomb, dash. If you don't know those yet, start with the how to play guide. Below we go through each mode one at a time.

Survivor

Survivor is a survive-and-keep-growing mode in an open arena with few obstacles inside. When you die you respawn quickly, so the flow never stops even under pressure.

The core loop runs on XP gems: you pick up the bright gems scattered on the floor (anything inside your magnet radius is pulled in automatically) and level up once you have enough. Every level you get three upgrade cards and pick one — Extra Bomb, Blast Range, Speed, Magnet, Health and more. Your picks stack through the match, so your character ends up shaped exactly around the way you play.

Here is the twist that makes it work: when you kill an opponent, part of the XP they had collected spills onto the floor as gems. Hunting down a high-level player is a single huge jump. And as your level rises your character grows too, so being strong also makes you more visible and more of a target.

Chaos

Chaos is the far wilder variant of Survivor. It shares the same level, gem and upgrade-card economy but changes the stage completely.

The arena is huge and completely open — there is only the outer boundary wall, no blocks inside to hide behind. With nowhere to hide, every encounter is direct and fast. On top of that your bombs explode differently: not in the plus (+) directions but as a circular disc, so you use your range in every direction at once.

The gem field is far denser than in Survivor, so levelling is quicker and the match heats up earlier. Ideal if you like running straight at things and want constant action.

Round

Round is the classic round-based mode. The goal here is not to survive but to be the last one standing.

You blow up the barrels and blocks in the arena to open paths and collect the power-ups they drop — bomb count, blast range, speed, kick and dash, all immediate. There are no upgrade cards; your power comes entirely from what you pick up off the floor. The last player alive wins the round. Every round is short and clean, which keeps the tension high all the way to the end.

Deathmatch

Deathmatch is the endless free-for-all. There is no "final round" waiting to be won; the flow never stops.

You collect power-ups off the floor as in Round, but dying doesn't eliminate you — you respawn shortly and carry on from where you were. Your goal is simple: collect the most kills and score. It is the mode for playing aggressively without fearing risk, and a perfect one to warm up in.

Event modes

From time to time special event modes open up in the menu. They arrive for a limited time and bend the formula in different ways:

Team
Two teams with limited lives, head to head. Wipe out the other team.
Dominion
Capture and fill the shrine that opens; the team controlling the shrines pulls ahead.
Zombie
An infection mode — whoever is caught switches sides, and the last human holds out.
Sudden Death
One hit kills and the arena shrinks fast; the highest-tension mode there is.

Whichever mode you pick, don't play without reading the tips page for mode-by-mode tactics and which upgrade cards work when. The right card order often matters more than your level; what each card does individually is in the Power-up Guide.
