Power-ups and Upgrade Cards Guide

Your power in bombic.io comes from two sources: the power-ups you pick up off the floor and the upgrade cards you choose as you level. This guide covers exactly what each of them does, when to take it, and which combinations stand out.

Two progression systems

How you grow depends on the mode you're playing. Round and Deathmatch have no upgrade cards; all of your power comes from the power-ups that drop when you blow up the barrels in the arena. In Survivor and Chaos you collect XP gems, level up, and grow your character permanently by picking one of the three cards offered at every level. For the details of each mode see the Game Modes page.

Floor power-ups (Round & Deathmatch)

Blowing up barrels and blocks sometimes drops a power-up. You collect it by walking over it, and its effect stacks for the rest of the match:

Strategy in these modes is to grab the power-ups before your opponents and to build a balanced mix rather than going to extremes: range on its own, with no speed to escape with, just feeds you your own blast.

Upgrade cards (Survivor & Chaos)

Every time you level you pick one of three cards. Below is what each one does and when it shines.

Extra Bomb +1 simultaneous bomb

Raises the number of bombs you can hold on the field by one. More bombs means more area control and more room to set traps; you also clear barrels and crowds far faster. It is the backbone of aggressive builds.

Blast Range +1 range

Extends how far the blast reaches in all four directions by one step. It lets you reach opponents behind cover — but it grows your own danger zone too; at high range, speed or dash becomes mandatory to avoid your own blast.

Speed +movement speed

Raises your movement speed. Most of surviving bombic.io is positioning: escaping your own blast, squeezing an opponent or getting away. Speed fits every build and is never the wrong pick.

Fast Reload shorter bomb cooldown

Shortens the wait between bombs, so you drop them more often. Combined with Extra Bomb it turns into a constant rain of bombs that never lets an opponent breathe.

Health +30 max health

Raises your maximum health by 30. It buys you a bigger margin for error and the ability to eat chain reactions; it is the foundation of tank-style builds that dive into the crowd.

Magnet +pickup radius

Widens the radius from which you pull in XP gems. Collecting gems faster means levelling faster, which creates a snowball that dominates the whole match if you take it early. Valuable early in Survivor and Chaos.

Regeneration +health regen (stops while hurt)

Refills your health over time, but regeneration stops while you're taking damage. The right way to use it is to pull out after a fight, heal up, and come back in at full.

Kick kick bombs to slide them

Lets you kick a bomb you walk into and slide it along. You can drive a live bomb onto an opponent or out of your own path — an advanced tool for both area control and escape.

Dash dash with Shift; repeats get faster

Grants a short-range dash; taking it again shortens the cooldown. It is the fastest way to escape a blast and to reposition suddenly, and the key to escape-oriented builds.

Short Fuse bombs explode sooner

Shortens your bombs' fuse. It gets harder for an opponent to escape the blast — but you have less time to leave the area too. A risk/reward card: strong for aggressive players, dangerous for careless ones.

Lifesteal +8 health per kill

You get 8 health back for every opponent you kill. In kill-heavy modes it keeps you standing indefinitely; it rewards aggression and, combined with Health, builds a durable "bruiser".

Standout build combinations

The right pick changes with the mode and the moment; for more tactics see the Tips page, and for the basics the How to Play page.
